Albert W. Ketèlbey (1875-1959):
Three Pieces for Orchestra and Piano

arranged for organ by Hans Uwe Hielscher

  1. In the mystic land of Egypt
  2. In a Chinese Temple Garden
  3. Dance of the Merry Mascots

Ketèlbey can be described as the most famous British composer of British Light Music of the first half of the 20th century. His character studies - especially about foreign countries and customs - were edited countless times for a wide variety of instruments. Hans Uwe Hielscher is now having his transcriptions for the organ follow, thereby enriching the repertoire of unusual organ music for special occasions with three "hits" that no audience can escape.

“The well-known organist Hans Uwe Hielscher has skillfully arranged original orchestral or piano-and-orchestral tonal pictures for the organ. It is extremely pleasant and atmospheric music that can be performed well on the organ. Such music has its place in a deliberately curious accent of a concert, possibly also as an encore.” [Church Music in the Diocese of Limburg 1/2008]

"Amusing and picturesque!" [La Tribune de lʻOrgue, France, 4/2007]
