"The friend and colleague of the Dortmund Reinoldi organist Gerard Bunk left behind some important organ works in the late romantic style. The highlight of his organ works is undoubtedly his Improvisation and Fugue on “The one on the cross is my love” op. 17 No. 2, which has remained in the repertoire of some important organists until today. Our new edition includes some changes compared to the original version, which the composer himself communicated to the editor Hans Uwe Hielscher. A veritable concert piece, especially for passion and memorial concerts and devotions."
