A first extensive documentation on the Walcker pipe organ of the Marktkirche Wiesbaden, inaugurated in 1863, on which the composer Max Reger often played in his Wiesbaden years (1890-1898). The exterior appearance of the 85-stop instrument has been unchanged over the decades. The organ has been rebuilt and expanded several times, but has retained its romantic sound character.
The book also describes the history of church music in the parish. One chapter is dedicated to each of the organists who have served here since the inauguration of the Market Church in 1862 to the present day. Provided with many photos and illustrations, further texts describe the history of the ringing bells as well as the large tower carillon (built in 1986), the former organ in the Parish Hall and the history of the organs in the Kurhaus Concert Hall Wiesbaden.
